Недавно мой дядя прислал мне видео, в котором Анатолий Вассерман выступает в защиту Сталина и значительно умаляет его вину в репрессиях в 30-е годы в Советском Союзе. Естественно, у меня это вызвало негативную реакцию и я ответил дяде в довольно резкой форме что “Россия, которая так и на пересмотрела свое страшное прошлое (и сегодняшний Российский строй тому доказательство), к сожалению, еще больше отдаляется от этой необходимости из-за таких псевдо-интеллектуальных чудаков”. Ответ Володи заставил меня не только посмотреть на вопрос о Сталине иначе, но и вызвал желание опубликовать его.
In a recent program on a Russian TV station, high-school teenagers were asked whether they think that a totalitarian regime is good or bad. Two boys spoke their mind. They said that “it is mostly good, because it brings order and structure into society, and enables progress. If people are not ruled, are not forced to work, nothing gets done”.
